RAPID CITY, November 9, 2015 — Prairie Edge will host the Artists of the Black Hills’ (ABH) fourth annual holiday show, showcasing the work of the artists. The show opens on Friday, November 20 with a free artists’ reception on Friday, December 4th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“We are excited to have our holiday show at Prairie Edge,” said Jan Sohl, landscape painter and ABH member. “Prairie Edge is a gallery member of our organization and prides itself on carrying the finest art of the Great Plains. We are proud of our association.”

The public is invited to the artist reception on December 4th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event provides a great opportunity to celebrate the holidays with artists who have achieved success both locally and regionally.

“Each of our members has been juried into the organization by a selection committee made up of a cross-section of ABH artists representing the entire body of the membership,” said Sohl, ”The intent of this organization is to make evident the large pool of professional artistic talent in the Black Hills region and the impact that art has on the quality of life in the Black Hills.”

The exhibition will showcase over 50 small works created in time for the holiday shopping season from over 25 individual members.

Artwork will include paintings, sculpture, photography, printmaking, jewelry, collage and assemblage. Only small works of art, the largest being six by six inches, will be shown.

"From the beginning, Artists of the Black Hills has prided itself on showcasing its member artists in quality venues with new, exciting and quality art,” said Mick B. Harrison, ABH founding member, “This small works show follows that tradition and promises something for everyone!"
